To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

If using ground turkey, bake uncovered in hot oven until meatballs reach minimum internal temperature, 22-25 minutes.

1 Start the Meatballs and Vegetables
Tear spinach into bite-sized pieces.
In a mixing bowl, combine panko and 2 Tbsp. water. Let sit, 1 minute.After 1 minute, add ground beef and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined. Form beef mixture into 8 equally-sized meatballs.Combine spinach and onions in provided tray and toss with a pinch of salt and pepper. Spread into a single layer.Evenly top vegetables with meatballs.Bake uncovered in hot oven, 15 minutes.Meatballs will finish cooking in a later step.Carefully remove from oven and drain any excess liquid from tray. Tray will be hot! Use caution. -
2 Add Sauce and Finish Meatballs and Vegetables
Add marinara and Calabrian peppers (to taste) to tray. Stir until combined and meatballs are coated. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.
Bake again uncovered in hot oven until onions are tender and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 6-8 minutes. Carefully remove from oven.While meatball mixture bakes, continue recipe. -
3 Make Pesto Aioli, Heat Rolls, and Finish Meal
In another mixing bowl, combine pesto and mayonnaise. Set aside.
Heat rolls to your preference using a toaster or microwave.Alternatively, place rolls directly on rack in hot oven, cut-side up. Toast until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes.To serve, fill roll with meatball mixture (to taste), cheese, and pesto aioli. Bon appétit!
