Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using 20 oz. steak strips, follow same instructions as 10 oz. steak strips, working in batches, if necessary.

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Follow same instructions as steak strips in Step 2, stirring occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

  • If using sliced pork, follow same instructions as steak strips in Steps 1 and 2, stirring occasionally until no pink remains and pork reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop into 1" pieces, then separate.

  2. 2

Cook the Steak Strips and Heat Rice

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add steak strips, white portions of green onions, mushrooms, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan.

Stir occasionally until mushrooms are tender, no pink remains on steak strips, and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

  3. 3

    Make the Risotto

Stir rice, 1 cup water, and demi-glace into hot pan until combined. Bring to a simmer. Once simmering, cook until liquid has reduced by half, 4-6 minutes.

Remove from burner. Stir in garlic salt, cream cheese, butter, sour cream, and a pinch of pepper until combined and creamy. If too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Taste, and add a pinch of salt, if desired.

    Rest, 3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping risotto with green portions of green onions and Parmesan. Bon appétit!
