Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, bake uncovered in hot oven until meatballs reach minimum internal temperature, 20-25 minutes.

  • If using ground turkey, bake uncovered in hot oven until meatballs reach minimum internal temperature, 22-25 minutes.

    Form the Meatballs

    In a mixing bowl, combine panko and 2 Tbsp. water. Let sit, 1 minute.

    After 1 minute, add ground pork, mayonnaise, chimichurri seasoning, garlic salt, and half the buttermilk-dill seasoning (reserve remaining for crema). Stir until thoroughly combined.

    Form meat mixture into 8 equally-sized meatballs.

    Place meatballs in provided tray and evenly top with 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Bake the Meatballs

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While meatballs bake, continue recipe.

    Heat Flatbreads, Make Crema, and Finish Meal

    Wrap flatbreads in foil and place directly on oven rack.

    Bake in hot oven until heated through, 5-7 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Transfer flatbreads to a clean, flat work surface and evenly spread with softened butter. Flatbreads will be hot! Use a utensil.

    While flatbreads bake, in another mixing bowl, combine sour cream, remaining buttermilk-dill seasoning, and 1 tsp. water.

    To serve, fill flatbreads with meatballs and spring mix. Garnish with feta and crema. Bon appétit!
