Before You Cook
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

Ground Pork 160° F
Roast the Potatoes
Cut potatoes into ¼" fries and pat dry.
Place fries on prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 Tbsp. olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Massage oil and seasoning into potatoes.
Spread into a single layer and bake in hot oven until lightly browned, 25-28 minutes, tossing fries halfway through.
While fries bake, prepare ingredients.
Prepare the Ingredients
Coarsely chop tomatoes.
Combine tomatoes, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
Make the Candied Bacon
Place a small non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add bacon to hot pan. Stir often until browned, 2-3 minutes.
Add brown sugar and 2 tsp. water. Stir often until water is almost entirely evaporated, 2-3 minutes.
Stir in red pepper flakes (to taste). Remove from burner and transfer bacon to a plate.
Toast Buns and Cook Burgers
In another mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Form into two equally-sized patties.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add buns to hot, dry pan, cut side down, and cook until lightly browned, 3-5 minutes.
Remove buns from pan. Keep pan over medium-high heat.
Add patties to hot pan. Cook until lightly charred and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side.
Remove from burner. Top burgers with Gouda. Cover, and let melt, 1-2 minutes.
Finish the Dish
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, placing burger on bottom bun and topping with bacon. Bon appétit!
