Caramelized onion is great on its own, where the caramelization (that means browning) brings out a sweetness that goes great everywhere and on nearly everything. (Maybe not on a salad… but we could make it work!) But we've done some interesting level ups here, adding sweet apple (in cider and butter form), pungent mustard, and rich butter. A bit better onion on your pork chop? We're adding this to our baskets right now.

Customize It Instructions

  • If using chicken breasts, follow same instructions as pork in Steps 1 and 4, cooking until golden-brown and chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using pork tenderloin medallions, follow same instructions as pork chops in Steps 1 and 4, cooking until golden-brown and pork medallions reach minimum internal temperature, 3-5 minutes per side. Rest, 3 minutes. Medallion thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner medallion, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  • If using sirloin steak, follow same instructions as pork in Steps 1 and 4, cooking until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

Halve lemon lengthwise. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half.

    Mince garlic.

Halve and peel onion. Slice halves into thin strips.

Pat pork chops dry and season both sides with pink seasoned salt.

  2. 2

    Roast the Broccoli

Place broccoli on prepared baking sheet. Toss with garlic, 1 tsp. olive oil, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Spread into a single layer.

Roast in hot oven until browned and tender, 14-16 minutes.

Remove from oven. Top broccoli evenly with 1 tsp. lemon juice.

    While broccoli roasts, continue recipe.

  3. 3

    Cook the Onions

Place 2 tsp. olive oil in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat.

Add onions to hot pan and stir occasionally until browned, 10-12 minutes.

If pan becomes dry, add water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, as needed.

Add apple cider and apple butter. Bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir in mustard. Stir occasionally until slightly thickened, 1-2 minutes.

Remove from burner. Stir in butter, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

    While onions cook, continue recipe.

  4. 4

    Cook the Pork Chops

Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add pork chops to hot pan and cook until golden-brown and chops reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-5 minutes per side.

Pork thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner chop, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pork chops with caramelized onions. Squeeze lemon wedges over to taste. Bon appétit!
