Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using Impossible burger, break up until burger reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

1 Cook the Pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 11-13 minutes.
Remove from burner. Reserve 1 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander and set aside.While pasta cooks, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare the Ingredients
Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. -
3 Cook the Italian Sausage
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add Italian sausage and white portions of green onions to hot pan. Break up meat into small pieces until browned and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. -
4 Make the Sauce
Add flour to hot pan and stir until no dry flour remains.
Add 3/4 cup reserved pasta cooking water, marinara, softened cream cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until sauce is slightly thickened and smooth, 2-4 minutes.If too thick, add additional reserved pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. -
5 Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Stir in peas, 1/4 tsp. salt, pasta, and Parmesan until cheese has melted and peas are heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing pasta with green portions of green onions, goat cheese (crumbling if necessary), and red pepper flakes (to taste). Bon appétit!
