Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Coarsely chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Line a plate with a paper towel. Remove prosciutto from refrigerator. Place prosciutto in a single layer on towel-lined plate and microwave until crisp, 60-90 seconds.

    Remove from microwave. Set aside to cool.

    Cook the Broccoli

    Place a medium pot over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add broccoli and 3 Tbsp. water to hot pot. Cover, and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 2-3 minutes.

    While broccoli cooks, break cooled prosciutto into bite-sized pieces.

    Start the Soup

    Uncover hot pot and stir in flour until no dry flour remains.

    Add 2 1/2 cups water, cream, chicken base, and half the prosciutto (reserve remaining for garnish). Stir vigorously until smooth, then bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir occasionally until thickened, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Stir in white portions of green onions and half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish) until melted and smooth. Cover.

    Heat Pretzel Sticks and Finish Dish

    Place pretzel sticks on a microwave-safe plate and microwave until warm and softened, 15-20 seconds.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with remaining cheese, remaining prosciutto, and green portions of green onions. Serve pretzel sticks on the side for dipping. Bon appétit!
