Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • Meatlovers! If using protein, cook in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil.

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using filets mignon or sirloin steaks, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  • If using salmon, pat dry. Add salmon, skin-side up first, and cook until salmon reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Start the Potatoes

    Slice potatoes into thin rounds.

Bring a medium pot with potatoes and 4 cups water to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook until fork tender, 8-10 minutes.

Remove from burner. Drain potatoes in a colander/strainer and transfer to prepared casserole dish. Stir in 2 tsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Spread into an even layer. Potatoes will be hot! Use a utensil.

    While potatoes cook, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ingredients

Trim yellow squash ends and grate.

    Peel, trim, and grate carrot.

    Stem and mince oregano.

  3. 3

    Start the Tian

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add yellow squash and carrots to hot pan. Stir occasionally until slightly browned and tender, 4-5 minutes.

Add garlic salt, garlic and parsley seasoning, Italian seasoning, lentils, tomatoes, half the oregano (reserve remaining for garnish), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir occasionally until combined, 2-3 minutes.

Remove from burner. Transfer vegetable mixture to casserole dish and evenly top potatoes.

  4. 4

    Add the Sauce

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine cream base, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Microwave uncovered until cheeses are melted and sauce is heated through, 45-60 seconds.

Carefully remove from microwave and stir to combine. Transfer sauce to casserole dish and evenly top vegetables.

  5. 5

    Finish Tian and Finish Dish

Bake uncovered in hot oven until vegetables are heated through and sauce is golden-brown, 18-22 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping tian with remaining oregano. Bon appétit!
