Customize It Instructions
-
If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.
-
1 Prepare the Ingredients
Stem basil, stack leaves, roll into a long cylinder, and slice lengthwise to create very thin strips.
Pat chicken dry. Season all over with savory seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor. -
2 Cook the Chicken and Leeks
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add chicken and leeks to hot pan. Stir occasionally until chicken is lightly browned and reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes. -
3 Add the Rice
Add tomato puree to hot pan. Stir constantly until combined, 60-90 seconds.
Add rice and stir often until combined, 30-60 seconds. -
4 Add the Broth
Add 3 1/4 cups water, garlic salt, and chicken base to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook until rice is tender, 20-22 minutes. -
5 Finish Casserole and Finish Dish
Uncover; add cream base, pesto, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Stir often until combined, 1-2 minutes.
Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice mixture with basil and garnishing with cheese. Bon appétit!
