Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

    Roast the Potatoes

    Cut potatoes into 1/4" rounds and pat dry.

    Place potatoes on prepared baking sheet and toss with 2 tsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and half the garlic pepper (reserve remaining for broccoli). Spread into a single layer (some overlap is OK), then evenly top with half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish).

    Roast in hot oven until tender and browned, 25-30 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While potatoes roast, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

    Mince garlic.

    Cook the Steaks

    Pat steaks dry and season both sides with garlic salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Working in batches if necessary, add steaks to hot pan. Cook until steaks reach desired doneness, or 3-4 minutes per side for medium/medium-well.

    Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

    While steaks cook, continue recipe.

    Cook the Broccoli

    Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add broccoli and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.

    Uncover and add garlic, a pinch of salt, and remaining garlic pepper. Stir occasionally until tender, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While broccoli cooks, continue recipe.

    Make Red Pepper Butter and Finish Dish

    In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, pesto, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping steak with red pepper butter. Garnish broccoli with remaining cheese. Bon appétit!
