Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F
  1. 1

    Heat the Potatoes

Combine potatoes in a medium pot with 3/4 cup water and 1/4 tsp. salt.

Place pot over medium heat and stir occasionally until most of the water has evaporated, 12-15 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

  2. 2

    Mash the Potatoes

Add cream, butter, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to pot. Mash until desired consistency is reached.

For a more rustic, chunky texture, mash less, and for a creamier mashed potato, mash more.

    Cover potatoes and keep warm.

  3. 3

    Heat the Gravy

Immediately before serving, place gravy in a microwave-safe mixing bowl.

Microwave until hot, 1-2 minutes for 1 container or 2-3 minutes for 2 containers, stirring halfway though.

  4. 4

    Finish the Potatoes

If potatoes are too thick, mix in water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency returns.

    Bon appétit and Happy Thanksgiving!
