Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Bake the Sausage

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing and break into small pieces.

    Place sausage in provided tray. Top evenly with pepper and onion mix, seasoning blend, and 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until sausage starts to brown, 12-15 minutes.

    Add the Pasta

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Stir in pasta, marinara, 1/4 cup water, half the mozzarella (reserve remaining for topping), and half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for topping) until combined. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan and pepperoni.

    Bake again uncovered until cheese is melted, pepperoni is crisp, and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 13-15 minutes.

    Finish the Dish

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Plate dish as pictured on front of card. Bon appétit!
