Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, cook patties in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 2 tsp. olive oil until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes per side.

    Prepare the Potatoes

    Place potatoes and 1 Tbsp. water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave covered until tender, 4-6 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave and transfer potatoes to a clean, flat work surface. Potatoes will be hot! Use caution.

    Using the flat side of an object, press down gently to smash each potato until 1/2" thick.

    Place potatoes on one half of prepared baking sheet and toss with 2 tsp. olive oil, potato spice seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

    Add the Patties

    Halve and peel onion. Slice halves into thin strips.

    In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic salt, and garlic pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined.

    Form meat mixture into two equally-sized patties, 5" across.

    Place onions in 2 5-inch circles on empty side of sheet. Evenly top onions with patties, pressing gently to adhere.

    Roast the Potatoes and Patties

    Roast in hot oven until potatoes are browned and patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 12-15 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Evenly top patties with cheese.

    Roast again in hot oven until cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While potatoes and patties roast, continue recipe.

    Toast Rolls and Finish Dish

    Place rolls directly on oven rack, cut-sides down.

    Toast in hot oven until slightly browned, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    To serve, top bottom roll with remoulade, onion patty, pickles, then top roll. Bon appétit!
