Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Start the Vegetables

    Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before cooking, and after handling raw meat and seafood. Remove all produce from any packaging or constraints, then thoroughly rinse and pat dry.

    In provided tray, combine mushrooms, kale, minced garlic and chili pepper (to taste), and 2 tsp. olive oil. Cover tray with foil.

    Bake covered in hot oven, 10 minutes.

    Add the Pasta and Sauce

    Carefully remove tray from oven and drain any excess liquid.

    Add pasta, tomato sauce, garlic salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and pesto (to taste). Stir to combine and cover with foil.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake again covered in hot oven until vegetables are tender and pasta is heated through, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Uncover and add butter (to taste) and red pepper flakes (to taste). Stir to combine.

    To serve, top pasta with cheese. Bon appétit!
