Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

1 Prep the Vegetables
Preheat the oven to 450F and prepare a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
Rinse and slice the tomato into ¼ inch round slices.Peel the onion and julienne into matchsticks.Rinse, scrub, and slice the potatoes into 1-inch steak fry sized pieces. -
2 Prepare the Potato Wedges
In a large, clean mixing bowl combine the steak fries, 2 tsp. olive oil, seasoning salt, and pepper to taste.
Place on the prepared baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes flipping half way through.Fries should come out crispy and golden brown. -
3 Caramelize the Onions
Heat a large sauté pan and 2 tsp. olive oil over medium heat.
When pan and oil are hot, add the onions and honey.Cook onions, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes, or until caramelized and golden brown.Keep warm until ready to serve. -
4 Prepare the Burgers
Using clean hands, form the ground beef into 2 equal-sized burger patties.
Season patties with salt and pepper.Heat a grill or grill pan over medium high heat and spray with cooking spray to prevent sticking.Place burger patties on grill and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until brown and firm to the touch.If using a meat thermometer, 155F is an ideal internal temperature for medium doneness.1 minute before finishing cooking, place cheese slices atop each burger and allow to melt.Place the buns on the grill to toast before plating.Remove from grill and keep warm until ready to plate. -
5 Plate the Dish
Place the bottom half of the bun on a plate.
Top with arugula, tomato slices, burger patty, and caramelized onions.Finish with the top half of the burger bun.Place some potato wedges next to the burger.Lay a few pickle slices next to the burger or on top of the burger.Place Ale House Sauce in a cup for dipping or slather on the burger.
