A note about serious food allergies

Hulk Smash! Nope, not in this meal. In this meal, it's "spicy Baja Smash!" Spicy in that on top of the meaty burger sits roasted jalapeño rounds (you can leave the seeds in for some extra spicy spice-ness), smash in that the burger is of the thinner variety. And the Baja? You've got some pico guac sitting right on top. Burger Smash! Burger Delicious!

  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

Customize It Instructions

  • If using 20 oz. ground beef, follow same instructions as 10 oz. ground beef, forming four patties and stacking two to serve.

  • If using ground pork, follow same instructions as ground beef in Step 3, cooking until pork reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  • If using ground turkey, follow same instructions as ground beef in Step 3, cooking until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cut potatoes into 1/2"-thick fries. Pat dry.

Core tomato and slice into 1/2"-thick rounds.

Stem jalapeño and slice into thin rounds. For less spice, remove seeds and ribs. Wash hands and cutting board after working with jalapeño.

  2. 2

    Roast the Fries and Vegetables

Combine fries, 2 tsp. olive oil, and 1/4 tsp. salt in a mixing bowl. Massage oil and salt into fries.

Transfer fries to prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer on one side. Reserve bowl; no need to wipe clean.

Place tomato and jalapeño in a single layer on empty side of baking sheet. Top with 1 tsp. olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Roast in hot oven until beginning to brown, 10-12 minutes.

Fries will finish roasting in a later step.

    While vegetables roast, continue recipe.

  3. 3

    Form and Cook the Patties

In mixing bowl used to season fries, combine ground beef, panko, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Form into two evenly-sized patties, about 5" in diameter.

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add patties to hot pan. Cook until lightly charred and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 3-4 minutes per side, adding cheese to patties after flipping.

Remove from burner. Cover with foil and set aside.

  4. 4

    Finish Fries and Toast Buns

After 10-12 minutes, remove baking sheet from oven. Transfer tomatoes and jalapeños to a plate.

Top fries with ranch seasoning and carefully toss to combine. Baking sheet will be hot! Use a utensil. Spread fries into a single layer.

Roast in hot oven until golden-brown, 15-18 minutes.

While fries roast, place buns directly on oven rack, cut side up, and toast until golden brown, 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with guacamole, patty, tomatoes, jalapeños (to taste), and top bun. Bon appétit!
