Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Hold romaine heart at root end and chop coarsely.

    Halve lime. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half.

    Cook the Ground Beef

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Drain any excess liquid from pan. Pan will be hot! Use caution.

    Stir in fajita seasoning, tomato sauce, a pinch of salt and pepper, and 2 tsp. lime juice until combined, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Transfer ground beef to a plate. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

    While ground beef cooks, continue recipe.

    Toast the Flatbreads

    Line another plate with a paper towel.

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 Tbsp. olive oil.

    Working in batches, place flatbreads, smooth-side up, in hot pan. Toast until golden-brown, 1-2 minutes.

    Replenish oil, if necessary.

    Remove from burner. Transfer flatbreads to towel-lined plate.

    Make Queso Sauce and Finish Dish

    Return pan used to cook beef to medium heat.

    Add cream base, green chiles (to taste), and 2 Tbsp. water to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, remove from burner. Stir in cheese and a pinch of salt until combined.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling flatbreads with beef and topping with queso sauce (to taste), romaine, and salsa (to taste). Squeeze lime wedges over to taste. Bon appétit!
