Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, bake uncovered in hot oven until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 17-20 minutes.

  • If using ground turkey, bake uncovered in hot oven until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 17-20 minutes.

  • If using Impossible burger, bake uncovered in hot oven until burger reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 18-20 minutes.

    Add the Sauce and Italian Sausage

    Turn oven on to 450 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Remove all produce from any packaging or constraints, then thoroughly rinse and pat dry.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    In one provided tray, combine diced peppers, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, minced garlic and parsley, 2 tsp. olive oil, garlic salt, chimichurri seasoning, and 1/4 tsp. salt.

    Break up Italian sausage into small pieces. Top sauce with sausage in an even layer.

    Start Sauce and Add Pasta

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until sauce is bubbling and Italian sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 25-30 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven.

    Add pasta and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until pasta is warmed through and sauce is bubbling, 10-15 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    To serve, top pasta evenly with cheese. Bon appétit!
