Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, cook in a medium pan over medium heat. Break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

  • If using ground turkey, cook in a medium pan over medium heat with 2 tsp of olive oil. Break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

    Start the Filling

    Spray provided tray with cooking spray.

    Place sausage in prepared tray and break into bite-sized pieces. Spread into a single layer.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-18 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven and drain any excess liquid.

    Finish the Filling

    Add flour and stir until no dry flour remains. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Add chicken base, 3/4 cup water, peas, spinach, garlic pepper, and a pinch of pepper. Stir to combine. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until gravy is bubbling and vegetables are heated through, 12-15 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Stir in softened butter until combined. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    While filling bakes, continue recipe.

    Heat Mashed Potatoes and Finish Meal

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mashed potatoes, mustard (to taste), and cheese. Vigorously stir to combine.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Vigorously stir to combine.

    To serve, top filling with mashed potatoes. Bon appétit!
