Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Add chicken to a medium non-stick pan with 2 tsp. olive oil over medium heat. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

    Start the Potatoes

    Peel and cut potatoes into large chunks.

    Bring a medium pot with potato chunks covered by water to a boil.

    Once boiling, cook until fork-tender, 14-18 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Reserve 1/2 cup potato cooking water. Drain potatoes in a colander/strainer and return to pot.

    While potatoes cook, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Mince chives.

    Place panko, cheese, and 1 tsp. olive oil on a plate. Stir to combine and spread into an even layer.

    Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides with half the onion salt (reserve remaining for mashed potatoes) and a pinch of pepper.

    Cook the Pork Chops

    Evenly top one side of pork chops with mayonnaise. Transfer pork, mayonnaise-side down, onto plate with panko-cheese mixture, pressing gently to adhere to one side.

    Place pork on prepared baking sheet, crusted-side up.

    Roast in hot oven until pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 12-14 minutes.

    Pork thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner chop, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Carefully remove from oven. Rest, 3 minutes.

    While pork roasts, continue recipe.

    Finish the Potatoes

    Add sour cream, butter, a pinch of salt and pepper, remaining onion salt, and 2 Tbsp. reserved potato cooking water to pot with potatoes. Mash until combined.

    If too thick, add additional reserved potato cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Stir in half the chives (reserve remaining for garnish) until combined.

    Finish the Dish

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping mashed potatoes with crispy onions and remaining chives. Bon appétit!
