Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Start the Orzo

    Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.

    Combine orzo, spinach, garlic pepper, shredded cheese, cream cheese, butter, 1 Tbsp. water, and 1/4 tsp. salt in provided tray. Cover with foil. Cream cheese and butter will melt as meal bakes.

    Bake covered in hot oven, 7 minutes.

    While orzo cooks, continue recipe.

    Add the Salmon

    Pat salmon dry and season flesh side with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tsp. olive oil and salmon, skin side up, to hot pan. Sear until golden brown, 2-4 minutes on one side.

    Remove from burner.

    Coarsely crush walnuts in bag with a heavy object.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Stir in a pinch of salt to orzo mixture, then push to one side. Place salmon in now-empty side of tray, skin side down. Top evenly with honey, then mustard. Top with crushed walnuts, pressing gently to adhere.

    Bake the Meal

    Cover orzo side of tray with foil, leaving salmon uncovered. Bake half-covered in hot oven until salmon reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 8-10 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Bon appétit!
