  • 1 Large Pot
  • 1 Colander/Strainer

Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. 

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

    Cook the Pasta

    Break pasta into smaller pieces.

    Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 6-8 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Reserve 1 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander/strainer and set aside.

    Wipe pot clean and reserve.

    Cook the Sausage

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    Return pot used to cook pasta to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add sausage and kale to hot pot. Break sausage into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Add the Flour

    Add flour to hot pot and stir until no dry flour remains.

    Add 1/2 cup reserved pasta cooking water. Stir to combine and bring to simmer.

    Add the Sauce

    Once simmering, add creme fraiche, pesto, garlic salt, and Parmesan to hot pot. Stir occasionally until combined and sauce is slightly thickened, 3-5 minutes.

    If too thick, add additional reserved pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Add Pasta and Finish Dish

    Add pasta to hot pot. Stir occasionally until coated and heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with mozzarella. Bon appétit!
