Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Cook the Vegetables
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add pepper and onion mix to hot pan and stir occasionally until tender, 3-4 minutes.While vegetables cook, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare the Ingredients
Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.
Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. -
3 Add the Steak Strips
Add 1 tsp. olive oil, steak strips, white portions of green onions, mushroom seasoning, and a pinch of salt to hot pan with vegetables. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Remove from burner.Add mirepoix base and 1 Tbsp. water. Stir until combined. Rest, 3 minutes.While steak strips cook, continue recipe. -
4 Make Mac and Cheese and Finish Dish
Place a medium pot over medium heat. Add softened cream cheese, Gouda, white cheddar, and a pinch of salt to hot pot. Stir constantly until cheeses melt, 2-3 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium-low. Add pasta and 3 Tbsp. water and stir occasionally until pasta is coated and heated through, 4-5 minutes.If too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping mac and cheese with steak strip-vegetable mixture, green portions of green onions, and crispy onions.
