How'd you like a rich, meaty steak sandwich with cheese spread on top for dinner? With a smattering of Cajun fries on the side? Seriously, piled on meat and yummy cheese? How can you refuse? How can we refuse? Be right back, about to spend my employee discount on this meal… Tip: Getting hip to the sticks: halve your potato, then place cut side down. Slice lengthwise into 1/4" slices, then stack half the potato slices and cut again to 1/4" slices.

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Large Non-Stick Pan

Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using flank steak, follow same instructions.

  • If using 20 oz. steak strips, follow same instructions, working in batches if necessary.

  • If using sliced pork, follow same instructions as steak strips in Step 3, stirring occasionally until no pink remains and pork reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

  • If using Impossible burger, follow same instructions as steak strips in Step 3, breaking up burger until heated through, 4-6 minutes.

    Bake the Fries

    Cut potatoes into 1/4" sticks.

    Place potato sticks on prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Spread into a single layer and bake in hot oven, 10 minutes.

    Carefully, flip potato sticks. Bake again until golden brown, 15-18 minutes.

    Remove from oven and gently toss baked fries with half the seasoning blend (reserve remaining for steak strips). Baking sheet will be hot! Use a utensil.

    While fries bake, make pimento spread.

    Make the Pimento Spread

    Combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, and pesto in a mixing bowl until incorporated. Set aside.

    Cook the Steak Strips

    Separate steak strips into a single layer and pat dry. Season all over with a pinch of salt.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add steak strips to hot pan and cook undisturbed until lightly browned, 2-3 minutes.

    Stir in remaining seasoning blend. Then stir occasionally until browned and steak reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-4 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

    Toast the Rolls

    Place rolls directly on oven rack in hot oven, cut-side down, and toast until golden brown, 1-2 minutes.

    Finish the Dish

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom roll with pimento spread, steak strips, dressing, and top roll. Bon appétit!
