Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Cut potatoes into 1/2" dice.
Place potatoes in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with a damp paper towel.Microwave covered until tender, 8-10 minutes.Carefully remove from microwave.While potatoes microwave, trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate. -
2 Cook the Hash
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add mixed peppers and microwaved potatoes to hot pan. Stir occasionally until peppers are tender, 6-8 minutes.Add white portions of green onions and stir occasionally until slightly browned, 1-2 minutes.Add garlic salt and smoked paprika. Stir occasionally until combined, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner.While vegetables cook, continue recipe. -
3 Cook the Pork Gravy
Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground pork and maple seasoning to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-7 minutes.Drain any excess liquid. Pan will be hot! Use caution.Add cream base, cream cheese, mushroom base, 1/4 cup water, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until gravy is slightly thickened, 1-2 minutes.If too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner. -
4 Broil Biscuits and Finish Dish
Halve biscuits. Evenly spread softened butter on cut sides of biscuits.
Place biscuits, cut-sides up, on prepared baking sheet.Place under hot broiler until biscuits are slightly browned, 2-3 minutes.Don't text and broil! Keep an eye on oven as biscuits may burn easily under broiler.Carefully remove from broiler.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping biscuits with pork gravy. Garnish with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
