Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    remove steak strips from package and cut into 1" pieces. Cut mushrooms into ¼" slices. Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Place a large non-sick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil Add steak strips, white onion bottoms and mushrooms to pan. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees and mushrooms are tender, 4-6 minutes.

    Add rice, 1 cup of water and demi packets to hot pan with steak and mushrooms. stir and allow to simmer for 2-4 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half. remove from heat and stir in garlic salt, cream cheese, butter, sour cream and ¼ tsp salt and a pinch of pepper. mix until creamy. allow dish to rest for 1-2 minutes before serving.
