A note about serious food allergies

We've given you French onion pasta bakes, French onion pizzas, French onion tacos, French onion smoothies (OK, not that last one), but we've neglected an important food stuff to Frenchify, a hand held wonder that we all know and love. That's right, the cheesy onion-y gooey goodness of French onion sitting atop a juicy burger, like it was born to be there. French onion noodle bowl? French onion kombucha? Who knows what we'll French onion next?

  1. 1

    Roast the Fries

Cut potatoes into ¼"-thick fries and pat dry.

Place fries on prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 Tbsp. olive oil, garlic pepper, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Massage olive oil, garlic pepper, and salt into potatoes.

Spread into a single layer. Roast in hot oven until lightly browned, 22-27 minutes, tossing fries halfway through.

    While potatoes roast, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Prepare Ingredients and Make Aioli

    Stem and mince thyme.

    Mince chives.

Halve and peel onion. Slice halves into thin strips.

In a mixing bowl, combine garlic aioli and chives. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Caramelized Onions

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat. Add 1 tsp. olive oil and onions to hot pan. Stir occasionally until browned, 12-14 minutes.

If pan becomes dry, add water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, as needed.

Add thyme, a pinch of salt and pepper, demi-glace, and 2 Tbsp. water. Stir occasionally until mixture achieves a jam-like consistency, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add buns to hot, dry pan, cut side down. Toast until lightly browned, 2-3 minutes.

Transfer buns to a plate. Keep pan over medium-high heat.

    While buns toast, continue recipe.

  5. 5

    Cook Burgers and Finish Dish

Form ground beef into two equally-sized patties, about 5" in diameter. Season both sides with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Add patties to hot, dry pan. Cook until lightly charred and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side.

Remove from burner. Top patties with cheese. Cover until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with burger, caramelized onions, and top bun. Serve aioli on the side for dipping fries. Bon appétit!
