Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

If using ground beef, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 10-12 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" slices.
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" slices. -
2 Form the Meatballs
Coarsely crush crackers.
In a mixing bowl, combine crackers and 1 Tbsp. water. Let sit, 1 minute.Add ground pork, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined.Form pork mixture into 12 equally-sized meatballs. -
3 Cook the Meatballs and Vegetables
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add meatballs, onions, and bell peppers to hot pan. Cover and stir occasionally until vegetables are tender and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 8-10 minutes.Uncover; add tomato sauce and stir often until meatballs are coated, 60-90 seconds.Remove from burner and evenly top with shredded cheese.While meatballs and vegetables cook, continue recipe. -
4 Heat the Rolls
Heat rolls to your preference using a toaster or microwave.
Alternatively, place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add rolls, cut-side down, to hot, dry pan. Toast until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.While rolls heat, continue recipe. -
5 Make Crema and Finish Dish
In another mixing bowl, combine cheese spread and creme fraiche.
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling roll with softened butter, crema, then meatball-vegetable mixture. Bon appétit!
