  • 2 Green Onions
  • 2 tsp. Chicken Broth Concentrate

Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using Italian sausage, break up sausage until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. 

  • If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Line a microwave-safe plate with a paper towel. Spread bacon evenly on towel-lined plate.

    Microwave until crisp, 1-2 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

    While bacon microwaves, remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" dice.

    Halve and peel yellow onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions.

    Pat chicken dry. Season all over with blackening seasoning and a pinch of salt.

    Cook the Vegetables

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add yellow onions, bell peppers, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until vegetables are tender and slightly browned, 6-8 minutes.

    Add the Chicken

    Add 1 tsp. olive oil and chicken to hot pan. Stir occasionally until golden-brown and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.

    Add the Sauce and Rice

    Add cream base, cheese, chicken base, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Stir often until combined and sauce is slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes.

    If too thick, add water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner.

    While chicken mixture cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rice and 1/4 tsp. salt. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Stir in pesto until combined and fluff rice with a fork.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with chicken mixture. Garnish with green onions, bacon, and crispy onions. Bon appétit!
