Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Prepare ingredients

    Chop broccili into 1" pieces Halve lemon lengthwise. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half.

    Cook Italian Sausage

    "Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add 2 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sauasge reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes." Transfer sausage from pan to plate.

    cook broccoli

    heat 2 tsp oil in pan. add broccoli to hot pan. saute for 1 minutes. carefully add ¼ cup of water and cover. cook until water is gone and broccoli begins to soften and is bright green, 2-3 minutes.

    Make sauce

    remove lid. add flour and mix until no dry flour remains. add 1 ¼ cup of water, cream base, chicken broth and garlic salt. mix well and bring to a simmer. allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes until mixture is slightly thickened and smooth. add sausage, 1 Tbsp lemon juice, pasta and ½ of parmesan. mix well until parmesan has melted. If sauce is too thick, add 1 Tbsp. water until desired consistency is reached.

    Finish dish

    Garnish with crispy onions, remaining parmesan and a lemon wedge. Bon appetite!
