Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start Potatoes, Prepare Ingredients, and Make Horseradish Aioli

    Prick potatoes all over with a fork. Place potatoes and 1 Tbsp. water in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until fork-tender, 2-3 minutes.

    If potatoes are longer than 2", microwave 4-5 minutes.

    While potatoes microwave, trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate.

    In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise and horseradish sauce (to taste).

    Pat steaks dry and season both sides with 1/4 tsp. salt and garlic pepper.

    Bake Potatoes and Make Crema

    Spray provided tray with cooking spray. Combine microwaved potatoes, white portions of green onions, 2 tsp. olive oil, and half the buttermilk-dill seasoning (reserve remaining for crema) in tray.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    In another mixing bowl, combine sour cream and remaining buttermilk-dill seasoning. Set aside.

    While potatoes bake, continue recipe.

    Add Steaks and Bake Meal

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add 2 tsp. olive oil and steaks to hot pan. Sear undisturbed until browned, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Remove from burner.

    After 15 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven and push potatoes to one side. Potatoes will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Transfer steaks to now-empty side of tray. Top steaks evenly with horseradish aioli (use less if spice-averse), cheese, and crispy onions.

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until steaks reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 6-9 minutes.

    Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Carefully remove from oven. Rest, 3 minutes.

    To serve, slice steak, if desired, and top potatoes with crema and green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
