Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Start the Sausage and Mushrooms
Turn oven on to 400 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before cooking, and after handling raw meat. Remove all produce from any packaging or constraints, then thoroughly rinse and pat dry. Spray provided tray with cooking spray.
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. In provided tray, break up sausage into bite-sized pieces. Spread into an even layer. Top with mushrooms, 1 tsp. olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper.Bake uncovered in hot oven, 10 minutes. -
2 Add the Sauce and Pasta
Carefully remove tray from oven.
Add marinara sauce and pasta. Stir until combined. Cover tray with foil. -
3 Bake the Meal
Bake covered in hot oven until Italian sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-18 minutes.
Carefully remove tray from oven.Uncover and add Sicilian sauce (to taste). Stir until combined. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.To serve, garnish with cheese. Bon appétit!
