Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    cook the potatoes and roast garlic

    Cut potatoes into ½" wedges. Place in a mixing bowl and toss with 1 tsp. olive oil, ¼ tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Massage oil into potatoes. Place potato wedges on prepared baking sheet. Spread into a single layer and bake in hot oven until tender and browned, 25-30 minutes, flipping once halfway through. While wedges bake, prepare ingredients. Place garlic cloves on a small piece of foil and spray generously with cooking spray. Form a small pouch and place on oven rack. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

    prepare the ingredients

    Halve and peel onion. Slice halves into thin strips. Season ground beef with a pinch of salt and pepper. Form into 2 patties.

    cook the onions

    Place 2 tsp. olive oil in a medium pan over medium heat. Add onion and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan and stir occasionally until browned, 10-13 minutes. Add balsamic vinegar to pan. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until vinegar is almost entirely cooked off. If pan becomes dry, add water 1 Tbsp. at a time. Remove from burner. Stir in red pepper flakes to taste.

    toast buns and cook burgers

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add buns to hot pan, cut side down. Cook until toasted, 1-2 minutes. Transfer buns to a plate and keep pan over medium heat. Add patties to hot pan and cook until browned and patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side, covering pan after flipping patties. Remove from burner. Top burgers with cheese spread and cover pan until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, placing onions bottom bun and topping with burger, and arugula. Top with top bun. Bon appétit!
