Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare The Ingredients

    Mince garlic

    Halve potatoes and cut each half into 1/2" wedges

    Core tomato and cut into 1/4" dice (Time: 1:00)

    Halve lemon lengthwise. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half. (Time: 1:26)

    Roast The Potatoes

    "Place potato wedges on prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 tsp olive oil. Spread into a single layer and bake in hot oven until lightly browned, 15 minutes, tossing wedges halfway through.

    After wedges have cooked 15 minutes, carefully remove from oven and toss again. Bake until golden brown, 4-5 minutes."

    Transfer to a bowl and toss with cooked garlic and meatloaf seasoning.

    Make The Patties And Saute Garlic

    In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, 1/4 tsp of salt and a pinch of pepper.

    Form mixture into patties, 4-5" in diameter.

    In a medium nonstick pan over medium heat, add 1 tsp olive oil and the minced garlic. Cook 1 minute. Reserve pan; Wipe pan clean and reserve. (End of step.)

    Toast Buns And Cook Burgers

    Place the same pan over medium-high heat. Add buns to dry, hot pan and toast until lightly browned, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove buns from pan. Keep pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add patties to hot pan and cook until burgers reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side. Top patties with Fontina cheese.

    Remove burgers to a plate. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

    Make Tomato Jam

    Add tomatoes, sugar, and 2 tsp. lemon juice to hot pan and stir to combine.

    Bring to a simmer and stir occasionally, breaking up tomatoes with a spoon, until slightly thickened, 5-7 minutes.

    Remove from burner and season with 1/4 tsp. salt and a pinch of pepper.

    Finish The Dish

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, placing burger on bun and topping with tomato jam. Bon appétit!
