Customize It Instructions

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using Italian sausage, remove from casing, if necessary. Break up sausage until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Cut mushrooms into 1/4" slices.
Pat chicken thighs dry. Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor. -
2 Make the Topping
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add panko to hot pan and stir often until light golden-brown, 1-2 minutes,
Remove from burner. Transfer panko to a mixing bowl. Set aside to cool, 3 minutes.After 3 minutes, stir in half the cheese (reserve remaining for sauce) and red pepper flakes (to taste). Set aside.Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean. -
3 Cook the Chicken and Mushrooms
Return pan used to make topping to medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add chicken , 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan and stir occasionally until chicken is lightly browned and reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.Add mushrooms and stir occasionally until slightly softened, 1-2 minutes. -
4 Make Sauce and Finish Dish
Add wine to hot pan. Stir often, scraping up any bits from bottom of pan, until wine has reduced by half, 1-2 minutes.
Add tomato sauce, pasta, remaining cheese, garlic and parsley seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Stir occasionally until pasta is heated through and sauce is slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner.Plate as pictured on front of card, garnishing pasta with topping. Bon appétit!
