Trim ends off parsnips and peel. Cut into 1/2" dice.Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate. -
2 Prepare the Puff Pastry
Remove puff pastry from refrigerator and place on a clean, flat work surface. Remove any paper between puff pastry squares, if necessary. If paper is sticking, place puff pastry in freezer until firm, 5 minutes.
Using the tip of a knife, draw diagonal lines on pastry squares, about 1/2" apart. Draw another set of diagonal lines crosswise from the first, forming a crosshatch. This is called scoring. -
3 Bake the Puff Pastry
Place puff pastry on prepared baking sheet.
Bake in hot oven until golden-brown, 9-11 minutes.Carefully remove from oven. While puff pastry bakes, continue recipe. -
4 Start the Pie Filling
Place sweet potatoes and parsnips in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a damp paper towel.
Microwave covered until tender, 6-8 minutes.Carefully remove from microwave. Stir in 1/4 tsp. salt and a pinch of pepper until combined. -

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, 3/4 the savory seasoning (remaining is yours to use as you please!), and a pinch of salt to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Add white portions of green onions and stir occasionally until softened, 1-2 minutes.Add tomato sauce, microwaved sweet potatoes and parsnips, and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally until combined, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner and stir in softened cream cheese until combined.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pie filling with shredded cheese and green portions of green onions.
